IAS Principal and Vice President Mike Ancell has nearly thirty years of publications and association experience, much of it as the editor of a national, monthly trade magazine and Director of Communications for a national trade association. A published writer and meticulous copy editor, Mike develops and manages editorial and production; manages circulation; hires and assigns writers, illustrators, and photographers; and oversees layout and design. He also developed, implemented, and reported surveys on magazine readership, member purchasing power, and satisfaction of convention attendees, as well as an annual economic survey.
A graduate of Duke University and the University of Maryland School of Journalism, Mike studied under prominent communications researchers and has been published in a variety of magazines and journals. He lives in Ellicott City, Md., and enjoys reading, history, and following the Orioles and Terps.
